Let it flow… Romano di Lombardia, 2015
Graffiti Writing is not just a sign on a wall, it’s a mirror. It doesnt tell lies.
Via Giambellino, Milano – MNP Hall Of Fame
Badly mixing flavors and inspirations, looking to find my own style: simple letters, big bold outline without any deph or shadow, too many different bright colors. It was difficult to paint with Dupli Colors, lines were often rough and caps were suddenly starting working bad while you were doin’ details, colors were not always mixing well together and made strange reactions… anyway, there was writers able to manage them much better than me and here I was trying to learn how to be more accurate and clean.
Via Brunelleschi, THP Hall Of Fame, Milano
Right before what I call the European Graffiti Writing revolution there was only an inspiration: NY City. This is how many of us grew up and learned The Culture, The Roots and The Rules. This piece was a simple tribute to a world of “classic styles” that were rapidly fading away. All colors and cans used here were only just bad cheap scrap cans: less money, more pieces…
During 1997 I made my second trip to New York. This time with a group of friends: MastroK, Phast, Intru and Krana:a crazy mix of THP and SIC crews.
Thanks to master Wane COD, me and MastroK stayed at the COD studio near Baychester in the Bronx: starting from there, for a couple of weeks we explored the whole city. This piece on a shutter at the Peak and Tab hall of fame in Brooklyn (thanks again guys!) has been made possible by another friend of mine, Smith, one the living New York’s legends. It’s still a great emotion to go back to those moments, few italians (Graffio and Sky4 only, if I’m not wrong) painted in NY before… a dream come true. I was so happy and proud… there was nothing more prestigious for a european writer in the 90s. The piece itself still looks acceptable and with some of the features of my today’s style. Yeah!
During the 90’s every piece painted in Via Pontano was precious. It was a real honor to be hosted at Sten&Mec‘s hall of fame, probably one of the most famous walls in Italy. This time I was with my close friends MastroK and Teatro, once again experimenting another style: looking back at those days all my pieces were really different one from another each time I was painting… still looking for my own way.
